Robin Tull Honored with 2019 First Citizen of Chesapeake Award

by Tull Financial Group | August 31, 2019 | Company News

On September 19, Chesapeake Rotary will honor our own Robin Tull as its 2019 First Citizen of Chesapeake at a banquet at the Chesapeake Conference Center. While all of us here at Tull Financial Group know exactly how much he deserves this award, Robin admits that he was surprised when he found out he had been chosen but is honored to be handed the torch.“Generosity doesn’t happen by accident, not even when we acquire more wealth. Generous people give in all seasons of life.”

The Chesapeake First Citizens Award is chosen by a panel of the award’s previous honorees and is given to an outstanding individual who embodies the spirit of citizenship and community and who has made strides through their leadership to enhance the quality of life in the city. The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self” and that is what they look for in their annual honoree, considering their volunteerism and extra effort outside of their profession in order to make Hampton Roads a better place to live and work.

The award is bestowed by the Chesapeake Rotary, a local club of the global Rotary network dedicated to uniting people within communities to exchange ideas, build relationships and take action. Through Rotary’s international service programs, individual clubs can have a significant effect on the quality of life in their community, which is exactly what Robin has done.

“Hampton Roads has been a great place to raise a family and to grow a business.”

Robin’s background in financial planning and commitment to the community was covered in a front-page article in the August 2019 issue of The Shopper. In it, he talks openly about how his faith has influenced his work, and how financial responsibility can (and should) work in tandem with generosity.

Everyone at Tull Financial Group is proud to honor Robin for this much-deserved award, and we invite you to celebrate with us on September 19th at 6pm. Individual tickets and tables are available to the public. Visit the Chesapeake Rotary website for the official invitation and instructions on how to attend.
